Helping our Younger Generation get a helping hand.
The American Legion and its Family [Son’s, AUX, and Rider’s] are happy to be able to grant scholarships to qualified applicants. Scholarships may be used for tuition, books, or other acceptable costs of education for either a certification, licensing, or technical program or toward a college degree. Notification of Scholarship winners will be made May 24th, 2024.
Applications must be completed single sided, submitted by U.S. Postal Service mail and post marked no later than May 16th, 2024

Required Qualifications
Seniors graduating 2024 or a High School Diploma or Equivalent
AND
At least one of the following (complete all that apply)
- Applicant is a full time Greater Pine resident for one year or more.
- Former Pine Island Elementary student: Circle grades attended: K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
- You are a current AUX or SAL member and have been one for more than one year.
- Immediate family member is a current Legion, AUX or SAL member for more than one year

Since our charter on July 1, 1980, American Legion Post 136 of Florida has been welcoming Veterans from all branches of our Armed Forces. Today, we continue to welcome all military personnel serving our country. Joining our Post enables you to continue serving your God, Country, and Community.
We have an active and exceptional Auxiliary, Sons of the Legion, and Legion Riders organizations. We celebrate the ladies and men of these organizations and are so much stronger for their continued support and participation.
