Requirements to join The American Legion

If you have served federal active duty in the United States Armed Forces since December 7, 1941, and have been honorably discharged or are still serving - you are eligible for membership in The American Legion!
* THE U.S. Merchant Marine eligible only from December 7, 1941, to December 31, 1946 (WWII).

Important: Everyone must submit a copy of their DD214 or Discharge

NEW MEMBERSHIP
- Eligible veterans applying for first time membership must submit the following information to Post Membership Committee:
- Complete the American Legion Membership new membership application form. Click on the "Application Form" menu button for a printable application form. Applications are also available at the Post.
- Print two (2) copies of the form. Enter Keep one copy for your records. Submit the other copy.
- Copy of your DD214 or Discharge
- Make a check payable to our Post for membership dues.
- Submit all information by mail to the above Post address or submit it at the Post. If mailing, do not send cash.
- The application information will be verified and if approved a membership card will be mailed to you.
TRANSFERS
- Veterans applying for transfers from your current Post to our Post must submit the following:
- Completed Member Transfer Request Form. Click on the "Transfer Form" menu button for a printable online application form. Applications are also available at the Post.
- Print two (2) completed copies. Keep one copy for your records. Submit the other copy.
- Copy of DD214 or Discharge
- Copy of your current Post Membership Card
- Make a check payable to our Post for the new year membership dues.
- Submit all information by mail to the above address or submit it at the Post. If mailing, do not send cash.
- The application information will be verified and if approved a membership card will be mailed to you.
